St. Patrick Center provides opportunities for self-sufficiency and dignity to people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. Individuals and families build permanent, positive change in their lives through safe and affordable housing, sound mental and physical health, and employment and financial stability. 

Working collaboratively with individuals, businesses, government and other service providers, St. Patrick Center will end chronic homelessness in the St. Louis region through Housing First, an evidence-based practice that tells us to remove barriers, do intake and assessment early, move people into housing and offer them support to achieve their goals.

Job Summary

St. Patrick Center, a ministry of Catholic Charities, is hiring an Executive Director/CEO. The Executive Director/CEO must be a practicing Catholic, a visionary and dynamic individual, who is responsible for leading St. Patrick Center to successfully achieving its mission through the development of effective programs, guiding fundraising efforts, and recruiting strong strategic partners. The CEO is ultimately responsible and accountable for the financial, administrative, and organizational well-being and performance of the Ministry. The salary range is between $140,000-$160,000.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provides directions in fulfilling the Mission of St. Patrick Center and Catholic Charities 
  • Responsible for executing the Board policies. 
  • Leads the strategic planning process in conjunction with the Board.
  • Provides management guidance to all functional heads of the Ministry.
  • Develops management team to ensure stable functional expertise, and to provide Ministry security through careful succession planning. 
  • Ensures that expenditure and revenue sources are maintained in balance. 
  • Serves as the public face of St. Patrick Center and takes responsibility for communicating and forging relationships with constituents throughout the community (i.e., donors and potential donors, foundations, corporations, city official’s government agencies, not-for-profit associations, and others)

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of an undergraduate Bachelor of Arts or Science degree 
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in senior management position (experience outside not-for-profit will be considered) 
  • Proven leadership ability, with experience managing multiple functions and layers of management. 
  • Creative and strategic thinker
  • Results-oriented with track record of achieving desired outcomes. 
  • Extensive knowledge and first-hand experience as an employee or volunteer in the not-for-profit sector
  • Strong understanding of development and fundraising 
  • Strong communications and presentation skills 
  • Financial acumen 
  • Collaborative team builder with ability to motivate employees, strategic partners, and other constituents. 
  • Identification with the Mission of St. Patrick Center, and willingness to work tirelessly in pursuit of it.
  • The CEO reports to the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors and its 25 members, and to the President of Catholic Charities, who also serves on the Board of Directors 
  • The CEO supervises the Sr. Directors, Leadership Team, and total staff of approximately 190 people reports to the CEO through these individuals
