Job Summary

St. Patrick Center, a ministry of Catholic Charities, is hiring a part-time Custodial Engineer. The custodial engineer is responsible for the completion of assigned duties related to the upkeep and cleaning of the facilities at St. Patrick Center, as well as other assignments related to agency's mission, vision, and values. The salary range is from $13 and $17 per hour. This position works 19 hours or less each week and is not benefits eligible.

Job Responsibilities

  • Performs all assignments related to the Facilities Department as defined by written work
  • orders and verbal directives from the Housekeeping Coordinator and/or other members of
  • the leadership team.
  • Clean, stock and supply designated facility areas (ex. dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping,
  • cleaning ceiling vents, restroom cleaning)
  • Notify management of occurring deficiencies or needs for repairs.
  • Cooperate with rest of staff.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations.
  • Meets with supervisor as needed.
  • Reliable transportation
  • Current TB test within thirty (30) days of hire
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED or ten (10) years of custodial work experience required
  • Associate’s degree or certification from trade school preferred.
  • One (1) to three (3) years of experience in housekeeping preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team atmosphere.
  •  Ability to interact with all areas of the agency and always respectful to all individuals.
  • Ability to understand and exhibit professional boundaries and practice client confidentiality.
  • Ability to remain flexible and open to change.
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies
  • Familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets
  • Basic understanding and competence using a computer especially Microsoft Office 365

Pre-Employment Screening
