Job Summary

This position directs and coordinates the formulation and monitoring of the annual budget for all Archdiocesan entities included in the consolidated financial statements.  This position also provides Finance Office Staff and other end users of Finance Office application systems, including remote users, with product and technical support by performing the following duties

Job Responsibilities

Coordinates the timely, complete, and accurate preparation of the annual budgeting process and quarterly variance reporting process.

Maintains automated budgeting software and trains others on how to use it.

Communicates and trains Accountants and Agency Directors on how to prepare, monitor and maintain budgets.

Uses management-designed systems to maintain the accuracy and integrity of the annual budget for all Archdiocesan entities.

Assists in the preparation of the reports for the quarterly presentation to the Budget Committee of the Archdiocesan Finance Council.

Assist Finance Office Staff and its customers with answers to their questions and needs by providing training and support which includes solutions, procedures, and reports.

Assist with Budget application (MagiQ) upgrades and patches.

Maintain security and provide support to the users of all Archdiocese finance systems.

Test new processes and upload procedures in the TEST product lines of Archdiocese finance systems.

Develop upload templates and mapping files for uploading data into the ERP system (Info/Lawson).

Upload various data files into Infor/Lawson including Consolidated Billing, Annual Financial Budget, GL entries, AR Payments, AP entries and payroll entries.

Maintain Consolidated Billing database used to publish annual Consolidated Billing Invoices sent to Agencies, Offices, Schools, and Parishes.  Printed reports given to Controller, Assistant Controller, Admin Accountant, PMBS, Parish Support Manager and Cash management (SLAF) staff.

Develop and maintain various databases and reports used by SLAF, Parish Support, Payroll and HR/Benefits Offices.  Sources of data includes but not limited to Infor/Lawson Source Files, Bank Source Files, revenue tracking software (Raiser’s Edge) Source Files, Procurement (Coupa) Source Files, banking transaction (Jack Henry) Source Files, healthcare billing (Matrix) Source Files.

Balance, publish and distribute monthly AR Statements.

Publish variety of month-end Financial Reports.

Participate in technical meetings/phone calls with vendors to consider new solutions or patch existing systems.

Job Requirements

Knowledge & Experience Requirements

College degree or equivalent is required, plus three to five years of related experience.  A working knowledge of accounting methodology is a must.  A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint) is needed.  Should be familiar with workings of Windows and Microsoft Windows Server software.  Experience with Infor/Lawson and SQL Server is helpful, but not required.

Language Skills - Ability to read, analyze and interpret common specific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.  Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
Accounting Skills - Basic understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
Reasoning Ability – Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Relationships Requirements

Maintain professional and courteous relationship with pastors, principals, administrative staff, and finance committees, supervisor, and peers.
