Job Summary
This is a unique opportunity for a talented and energetic storyteller to help advance the mission of the Catholic Church in St. Louis and to share the good news about our Archdiocesan schools. The Marketing & Communications Specialist II reports to the Director of Community & Media Engagement and works creatively and collaboratively as a marketing-communications generalist on the Communications Office’s Engagement Team, with a special focus on driving marketing-communications for the Office of Catholic Education and Formation (OCEF).
Job Responsibilities
Develop and execute a creative and effective marketing/communications strategy to promote the 83 archdiocesan elementary schools and 8 archdiocesan high schools, with focus on student enrollment, faculty/staff recruitment, and donor support. Enhance and execute online content strategy; manage day-to-day website responsibilities. Oversee the design and distribution of digital/electronic/print communications to keep the OCEF team and school leadership/faculty informed and inspired. Define scope and key metrics for marketing campaigns, oversee progress and deliverables, collaborate with team members to complete objectives. Support leadership with media communications, especially when related to our schools and oversee progress and deliverables and collaborate with team members to complete objectives. Availability for occasional evening, seasonal and weekend events. Will work closely with: The Office of Communications and the Office of Education and Formation; HR, IT, Parish Mission & Vitality and other Curia offices/ministries as needed; External partners, such as marketing, PR, print and other vendors and consultants as needed.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree and 2 years minimum of relevant experience; may include some internships. Strong knowledge and passion for the principles, teachings and mysteries of the Catholic faith. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; a storyteller with proven success with persuasive writing and ability to elicit powerful testimonials. Success in social media and web writing. Ability to shoot and produce basic web-friendly video. Basic graphic design experience. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects. Excellent interpersonal skills, flexibility, and ability to work in a team environment.
