Job Summary

Middle School Classroom Aide (Year-Round)

 

Holy Cross Academy seeks a faith-filled, dedicated Middle School Classroom Aide to join our learning community. The ideal candidate is committed to academic excellence, Catholic education, and the spiritual, intellectual, and social development of adolescents.

 

Position Overview

The Year-Round Middle School Classroom Aide works collaboratively with faculty, staff, families, and administration to support a positive, rigorous, and faith-centered learning environment. This position provides instructional and operational support to Middle School teachers while promoting the mission and values of Holy Cross Academy. The Aide also assists with student supervision and daily school operations to foster academic, personal, and spiritual growth.

 

General Responsibilities

  • Assist teachers with classroom instruction, lesson preparation, and implementation of learning activities
  • Support differentiated instruction to meet diverse learning needs
  • Provide small-group and individual student support under teacher guidance
  • Help maintain a positive, respectful, and faith-centered classroom culture
  • Supervise students during lunch, recess, hallways, and dismissal
  • Communicate professionally with faculty, staff, and parents/guardians as directed
  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events
  • Model and support Catholic values in all interactions
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

Specific Responsibilities

  • Provide instructional support in occasional substitute teaching roles as needed
  • Support the Middle School Accelerated Reading Program, including:
    • Establishing and maintaining the Accelerated Reading Lending Library
    • Managing book and material check-in/check-out procedures and schedules
    • Importing and tracking academic data to monitor student progress
    • Collaborating with homeroom teachers to implement student incentives and rewards
  • Complete additional projects and responsibilities as assigned

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (or anticipated degree) in education or a related field preferred
  • Valid teaching certification or eligibility for certification preferred
  • Experience working with middle school–aged students in an educational or supervisory setting preferred
  • Flexibility, reliability, and a positive, student-centered approach
  • Practicing Catholic preferred; respect for and commitment to Catholic teachings required
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, administration, and families
