Job Summary

This position plays a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. This position involves performing daily cleaning and sanitation tasks, including sweeping, mopping, and disinfecting classrooms, restrooms, and common areas. Will also assist with minor repairs, setup for events, and ensure that all supplies are adequately stocked. A strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, and a commitment to promoting a healthy school environment are essential for success in this role. The position will collaborate with the staff supervisor to address maintenance needs and contribute to a positive school atmosphere. Part-time position: 25-30 hours per week; 5-6 hours per day.
 

Job Responsibilities

●    Clean church and other parish or school buildings. Mop and vacuum floors, clean bathrooms, wash windows and perform other cleaning activities, as directed
●    Maintain grounds, perform snow removal with hand shovels, blow walkways, weed, prune and rake as directed on a seasonal basis
●    Perform minor maintenance of the rectory, church, school and/or other church buildings  
●    Provide other general assistance as needed through set-up of tables and chairs in facilities, as requested 
●    Hauling and moving items and picking up parts or other equipment as requested by staff
●    Collect and dispose of trash and garbage
●    Report cleaning and grounds maintenance inventory needs to supervisor
●    Report  an inventory of supplies for lighting and cleaning supplies, as requested
 

Job Requirements

●    Must have necessary mechanical skills and the ability to work safely with machinery and equipment requiring considerable caution
●    Must have ability to perform outlined tasks with minimum supervision and be self-motivated
●    Must have good interpersonal communication skills
●    Must be able to maintain confidentiality
●    Ability to tolerate varying temperatures and climate changes
●    Ability to lift 50 pounds, climb ladders and stand for long periods
●    Willingness to work a flexible schedule with possible evening and/or weekend hours
