The Archdiocese of St. Louis strives to teach and share our faith, serve others, and foster unity throughout the St. Louis area.  Once a part of Kenrick-Glennon Seminary's campus, the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury, MO is today the headquarters and curia (governing body) for the Archdiocese of St. Louis.

Job Summary

Sacred Heart Catholic Church, located in Valley Park, Missouri, is seeking a part-time Choir Director (approximately 15 hours/week). The Choir Director will be tasked with leading our Adult Choir, and our 5th – 12th Grade Youth Choir. A successful candidate will bring experience in helping to develop those who currently participate in these choirs, and will also be able to recruit new members. They will also have a strong desire to build community engagement at our parish liturgical celebrations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead weekly rehearsals for the Adult Choir and Youth Choir
    -Conduct at Masses on Sunday for the Adult Choir (bi-monthly), for the Youth Choir (monthly)
    -Prepare copies of music packets
    -Research and prepare choral music for Communion Meditation

Job Requirements

Knowledge & Experience Requirements
    Experience in working with, and conducting adult and youth choirs

    Required Skills
    Excellent interpersonal communication, leadership, and performance skills
    Patience, clarity, mentoring ability, and a positive attitude
    Good organizational ability, timeliness, and preparedness
    Willingness to work as a leader and member of a team
