Job Summary

Seven Holy Founders Catholic Church, is seeking a faith-filled and dependable Catechist Aide to support our religious education program. The Catechist Aide works closely with the Lead Catechist to assist in teaching and forming children or youth in the Catholic faith. This role supports classroom activities, helps with student engagement and discipline, and fosters a Christ-centered environment that promotes growth in faith, prayer, and community. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist the Lead Catechist with classroom setup, materials, and instruction.

  • Support students during lessons, activities, prayer, and discussions.

  • Help maintain a safe, respectful, and faith-filled environment in the classroom.

  • Encourage participation in class and help guide students during activities or group work.

  • Accompany students to and from classrooms or Mass as needed.

  • Assist with attendance, record-keeping, and other administrative tasks.

  • Be present and attentive during all class sessions and catechetical events.

  • Model and promote Catholic teachings, values, and virtues through words and actions.

  • Attend required training sessions and complete diocesan Safe Environment requirements.

Job Requirements

  • Practicing Catholic who upholds the teachings and values of the Catholic Church

  • Desire to share the faith and assist in the spiritual development of young people

  • Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively with the Lead Catechist and parish staff

  • Completion (or willingness to complete) Safe Environment training and background check, per diocesan policy
