Job Summary

The Junior Kindergarten Aide supports the lead teacher in creating a nurturing, safe, and engaging learning environment for children ages 4–5. The aide assists with classroom activities, supervision, behavior management, and day-to-day routines to ensure each child’s developmental, social, emotional, and academic growth.

Job Responsibilities

Assist the lead teacher in implementing daily lesson plans and classroom activities.
Supervise students in the classroom, on the playground, during meals, and transitions.
Help maintain a clean, organized, and child-friendly classroom environment.
Support children in developing appropriate social behavior and independence.
Assist with preparing materials and supplies for lessons and activities.
Observe and report student behavior, progress, or concerns to the lead teacher.
Assist with toileting, dressing, and hygiene as needed, following school policies.
Maintain a respectful, professional, and caring relationship with students, families, and staff.
Follow all school policies, procedures, and safety regulations.

Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Experience working with young children in a school or childcare setting is highly desirable.
Patience, flexibility, a love of children, and strong communication skills.
Ability to follow direction and work collaboratively with a team.
