Job Summary

The Catholic School Teacher is responsible for creating a nurturing, Christ-centered classroom environment that supports the academic, spiritual, and personal development of each student. The teacher will plan and implement instructional lessons that align with both diocesan standards and Catholic teachings, fostering a community grounded in Gospel values.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide instruction in accordance with diocesan curriculum guidelines and state educational standards.

  • Integrate Catholic faith, values, and teachings across all subject areas and classroom interactions.

  • Create and maintain a safe, positive, and respectful learning environment.

  • Develop lesson plans that are engaging, differentiated, and reflective of best teaching practices.

  • Assess and evaluate student progress using various assessment tools.

  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about student progress, behavior, and classroom activities.

  • Collaborate with other teachers, staff, and school leadership in a professional and faith-based environment.

  • Attend and participate in school liturgies, retreats, and other religious activities.

  • Uphold and model the moral and ethical teachings of the Catholic Church.

  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school-wide initiatives.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a related field 

  • Valid teaching license/certification as required by the diocese or state.

  • Practicing Catholic in good standing (preferred or required, depending on school).

  • Demonstrated commitment to Catholic education and mission.

  • Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively and maintain professionalism.
