Job Summary

This role requires an individual who is passionate about fostering a vibrant faith community and can balance administrative responsibilities with catechetical leadership.

Job Responsibilities

St. Vincent Parish School of Religion

  •  Lead the PSR program (gr. 1-8), ensuring alignment with diocesan guidelines and Catholic teachings
  •  Provide formation and guidance for the teachers/catechists
  •  Recruit new teachers/catechists
  •  Provide resources for teachers and student for their faith formation
  •  Organize our Luke 18 Retreat
  •  Provide a sacrament preparation for those who are catching up on Sacraments of Initiation

 

Sacraments of Initiation

  •  Oversee the preparation of children for First Holy Communion, Reconciliation and Confirmation for the School, PSR and Home Schooled
  •  Work with the music coordinator and pastor for the liturgy of those sacraments
  •  Organize retreats for parents and student for Reconciliation, First Holy Communion and Confirmation
  •  Work with the pastor about Sunday Liturgies for each of the three sacraments as parents, students and sponsors are present for those Masses

 

Liturgy of the Word for Children

  •  Oversee the program which occurs on Sunday mornings at the 9 a.m Mass
  •  Recruit volunteers to run the liturgies
  •  Provide formation and resources for the volunteers

 

VBS (Vacation Bible School)

  •  Plan the summer program
  •  Recruit volunteers to assist in the program
  •  Provide instruction and formation to the volunteers

Job Requirements

 Practicing Catholic with a deep understanding and commitment to the teachings of the Catholic Church and the mission of the parish.

  •  Bachelor’s degree in theology, religious education, education administration, or related field (preferred).
  •  Previous experience in religious education and/or parish ministry, with at least 3-5 years of experience in a leadership or administrative role.
  •  Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities simultaneously.
  •  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, parents, and parishioners.
  •  Ability to lead and motivate teams, particularly volunteers and catechists.
  •  Familiarity with building management and facility scheduling is a plus.
  •  Knowledge of parish and diocesan structures and policies is preferred.
  •  Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required for PSR and parish events.
