Job Summary
This role requires an individual who is passionate about fostering a vibrant faith community and can balance administrative responsibilities with catechetical leadership.
Job Responsibilities
St. Vincent Parish School of Religion
- Lead the PSR program (gr. 1-8), ensuring alignment with diocesan guidelines and Catholic teachings
- Provide formation and guidance for the teachers/catechists
- Recruit new teachers/catechists
- Provide resources for teachers and student for their faith formation
- Organize our Luke 18 Retreat
- Provide a sacrament preparation for those who are catching up on Sacraments of Initiation
Sacraments of Initiation
- Oversee the preparation of children for First Holy Communion, Reconciliation and Confirmation for the School, PSR and Home Schooled
- Work with the music coordinator and pastor for the liturgy of those sacraments
- Organize retreats for parents and student for Reconciliation, First Holy Communion and Confirmation
- Work with the pastor about Sunday Liturgies for each of the three sacraments as parents, students and sponsors are present for those Masses
Liturgy of the Word for Children
- Oversee the program which occurs on Sunday mornings at the 9 a.m Mass
- Recruit volunteers to run the liturgies
- Provide formation and resources for the volunteers
VBS (Vacation Bible School)
- Plan the summer program
- Recruit volunteers to assist in the program
- Provide instruction and formation to the volunteers
Job Requirements
Practicing Catholic with a deep understanding and commitment to the teachings of the Catholic Church and the mission of the parish.
- Bachelor’s degree in theology, religious education, education administration, or related field (preferred).
- Previous experience in religious education and/or parish ministry, with at least 3-5 years of experience in a leadership or administrative role.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, parents, and parishioners.
- Ability to lead and motivate teams, particularly volunteers and catechists.
- Familiarity with building management and facility scheduling is a plus.
- Knowledge of parish and diocesan structures and policies is preferred.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required for PSR and parish events.
