Job Summary

The Aftercare Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing, and supervising the preschool's after-school program. This role ensures a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children ages 3–5 during after-school hours, while managing staff, maintaining schedules, and coordinating activities that support social and emotional development.

Job Responsibilities

  • Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of all children during aftercare hours.

  • Plan and implement age-appropriate activities including games, arts and crafts, story time, and outdoor play.

  • Manage daily routines including attendance, snack distribution, and cleanup.

  • Provide guidance and support to aftercare staff and aides.

  • Communicate with parents regarding schedules, incidents, or concerns.

  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, incidents, and health concerns.

  • Ensure all aftercare policies and procedures are followed, including health, safety, and emergency protocols.

  • Collaborate with the preschool director and teaching staff to ensure consistency in behavior management and developmental goals.

Job Requirements

  • Active supervision in both indoor and outdoor environments.

  • Requires physical activity such as sitting on the floor, bending, lifting, and standing for long periods.

  • May involve responding to minor accidents or behavioral issues.
