Job Summary
The Coordinator of Parish School of Religion (PSR) is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the religious education program for children and youth within the parish. This role involves developing and implementing a curriculum that aligns with Catholic teachings, coordinating sacramental preparation, recruiting and training volunteer catechists, and fostering a vibrant faith community among families. The Coordinator of PSR works closely with the pastor, parish staff, and parents to nurture the spiritual development of the parish's young members.
Job Requirements
- Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church, with a strong understanding of Catholic theology and traditions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Theology, Religious Education, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of three years of experience in religious education, catechesis, or a related ministry.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with parish staff, volunteers, and families.
- Proficiency in using digital tools and resources for communication and program management.
- Commitment to fostering a safe and nurturing environment for children and youth.
- Desire to share their faith with the youth of our parish
