Job Summary

The 3rd Grade Teacher is responsible for delivering a well-rounded education grounded in Catholic values. This includes fostering students’ spiritual, academic, social, and emotional growth through effective instruction, classroom leadership, and active faith integration. The teacher supports the mission of the Catholic Church and the school while preparing students for success in school and in life.

Job Responsibilities

Academic Instruction:

  • Plan and implement engaging lessons in all core subjects (Religion, Reading/Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies).

  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners and academic levels.

  • Use a variety of instructional methods and assessment tools to monitor student growth and guide instruction.

  • Integrate technology and hands-on learning experiences to enhance student engagement and understanding.

Classroom Management & Student Support:

  • Establish a respectful, nurturing classroom culture based on mutual responsibility, kindness, and discipline consistent with Catholic values.

  • Use age-appropriate behavior management techniques to maintain a productive learning environment.

  • Monitor student progress and provide timely, constructive feedback.

Collaboration & Communication:

  • Maintain regular communication with parents about student progress, classroom events, and academic or behavioral concerns.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and school leadership to support school-wide goals and student development.

  • Attend and participate in staff meetings, professional development, school functions, and liturgical events.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field

  • Valid teaching credential (state or diocesan certification).

  • Practicing Catholic preferred; must support and uphold the teachings of the Catholic Church.

  • Experience teaching in a Catholic or elementary school setting preferred.

  • Strong classroom management, instructional planning, and communication skills.
