Job Summary
The Aftercare Worker supports the school community by providing safe, nurturing, and engaging after-school care for students. This role plays a vital part in the daily lives of families and children, ensuring a structured and caring environment during after-school hours. Ideal candidates are dependable, patient, and genuinely enjoy working with children.
Job Responsibilities

Supervise and engage a designated group of children during aftercare hours

Ensure the safety and well-being of all students in the program

Lead and participate in age-appropriate games, activities, and quiet time

Maintain a calm, respectful, and structured environment

Assist with snack time, clean-up, and transitions between activities

Report any behavioral or safety concerns to the Aftercare Coordinator or school leadership

Maintain daily attendance and accurate records for assigned group

Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and fellow staff
Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework in education or child development preferred

Experience working with children in a school, daycare, or camp setting is a plus

Ability to manage groups of children calmly and effectively

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Patience, reliability, and a caring demeanor
