Job Summary

The Cafeteria Monitor is responsible for supervising students during lunch periods to ensure a safe, orderly, and respectful environment in keeping with the Catholic values of the school. The monitor supports student well-being by promoting appropriate behavior, cleanliness, and a positive dining experience.

Job Responsibilities

Supervision and Safety:

  • Oversee students in the cafeteria during meal times to ensure appropriate behavior and safety.

  • Monitor student movement to and from the cafeteria and maintain orderly transitions.

  • Enforce lunchroom rules in a consistent, respectful, and fair manner.

Behavior Management:

  • Promote and model respectful, Christ-centered behavior.

  • Address minor conflicts or disciplinary issues calmly and refer serious issues to appropriate school personnel.

  • Encourage table manners, cooperation, and kindness among students.

Job Requirements

  • Experience working with children in a school or childcare setting is a plus.

  • Practicing Catholic preferred; must support the mission and values of Catholic education.

  • Ability to maintain order, remain calm under pressure, and engage positively with students.

  • Dependability, punctuality, and strong interpersonal skills.
