Job Summary
The Kindergarten Teacher is responsible for fostering the academic, spiritual, emotional, and social development of young learners in a faith-based environment. Through developmentally appropriate instruction, Catholic values, and nurturing support, the teacher helps students grow into curious, compassionate, and confident individuals.
Job Responsibilities
Faith Integration:

Incorporate Catholic teachings, prayers, and traditions into daily classroom life.

Serve as a Christian role model in speech, behavior, and attitude.

Collaborate with the parish and school community on liturgical and faith-based events (e.g., weekly Mass, prayer services).
Curriculum & Instruction:

Plan and deliver engaging lessons in religion, reading readiness, writing, math, science, social studies, and social-emotional learning.

Create hands-on, play-based, and inquiry-based learning experiences appropriate for kindergarten learners.

Differentiate instruction to meet students' diverse learning needs and abilities.

Use assessments to monitor progress and guide instruction.
Classroom Management:

Create a safe, loving, and respectful classroom rooted in Christian values.

Establish clear routines and behavior expectations that promote self-regulation and cooperation.

Encourage kindness, sharing, and community-building among students.
Communication & Parent Involvement:

Maintain regular, positive communication with families through newsletters, conferences, and informal updates.

Encourage parent involvement in class activities, faith formation, and school community events.
Professional Expectations:

Collaborate with colleagues on cross-curricular planning, school-wide initiatives, and student support.

Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and diocesan training.

Maintain accurate student records, including attendance, assessments, and report cards.
Job Requirements

State teaching certification (required or must be obtained).

Practicing Catholic (preferred or required, especially if teaching religion).

Experience working with young children in an educational setting.

Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.

Completion of Safe Environment training and background check (required).

CPR/First Aid certification (may be required or preferred).
