Job Summary
The Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Teacher fosters the development of students’ emotional intelligence, self-awareness, interpersonal skills, and moral character in alignment with Catholic values. This position involves teaching SEL lessons, supporting student well-being, and collaborating with faculty and families to integrate social-emotional growth into the school’s Catholic mission and academic framework.
Job Responsibilities
Instruction & Program Implementation:

Develop and deliver age-appropriate SEL curriculum across grade levels (e.g., self-regulation, empathy, conflict resolution, resilience, healthy relationships).

Integrate Catholic teachings on dignity, compassion, and community into SEL instruction.

Lead classroom lessons, small group sessions, and school-wide SEL initiatives.

Support restorative practices and character education programs consistent with Catholic values.
Student Support:

Provide a safe, welcoming environment for students to discuss social or emotional challenges.

Collaborate with teachers to support students exhibiting behavioral or emotional difficulties.

Partner with school counselors or psychologists as needed for referrals or crisis support.

Model and promote respectful communication, empathy, and problem-solving.
Collaboration & Communication:

Work closely with teachers, administrators, and parents to foster a school-wide culture of emotional well-being and spiritual growth.

Provide professional development or guidance to faculty on SEL topics and strategies.

Participate in school faith-based events and community-building initiatives
Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or related field

Experience in SEL instruction, counseling, or related student support services.

Strong interpersonal, communication, and facilitation skills.
