Job Summary

The Aftercare Program Staff member supervises and engages children in a safe, structured, and welcoming environment that reflects Catholic values. This role facilitates age-appropriate activities, supports homework completion, and fosters respect, responsibility, and positive relationships with students, staff, and families.

Job Responsibilities

  • Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of students enrolled in the Aftercare Program.
  • Create a welcoming and structured environment that promotes respect, responsibility, and Christian values.
  • Facilitate a variety of age-appropriate activities, including games, crafts, and quiet time.
  • Assist students with homework and encourage positive study habits.
  • Maintain consistent communication with school staff and parents regarding student behavior and needs.
  • Uphold the mission and values of St. Gerard Majella School and the Archdiocese of St. Louis.
  • Support a positive and collaborative team atmosphere among fellow staff members.

Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 16 years of age.
  • Ability to supervise and engage children in a variety of structured and unstructured activities.
  • Demonstrated patience, enthusiasm, reliability, and a genuine love for working with children.
  • Commitment to upholding Catholic values and modeling Christian behavior.
  • Must pass a background check and complete all Archdiocesan Safe Environment requirements.

Pre-Employment Screening
