Job Summary

The AV Technical Support Specialist provides technical support and operation of audio, video, lighting, and multimedia equipment during liturgies, events, and other church functions. This role is vital in enhancing the worship experience and ensuring smooth delivery of services in alignment with the sacred atmosphere and values of the Catholic Church.

Job Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and maintain audio-visual equipment for Masses, sacraments, prayer services, meetings, and special events.

  • Manage sound systems including microphones, speakers, mixers, and audio recording devices.

  • Operate video equipment such as projectors, cameras, live-streaming setups, and monitors.

  • Troubleshoot technical issues promptly to minimize disruptions during services.

  • Collaborate with clergy, music ministers, and event coordinators to meet AV needs.

  • Assist in creating multimedia presentations for worship, announcements, and educational purposes.

  • Maintain an inventory of AV equipment and coordinate repairs or upgrades as needed.

  • Train volunteers and staff on AV system use and best practices.

  • Ensure all AV activities uphold the reverence and dignity appropriate to Catholic worship.

  • Adhere to safety standards and protocols for all technical operations.

Job Requirements

  • Experience in audio-visual technology, preferably in a church or live event setting.

  • Familiarity with soundboards, microphones, projectors, live-streaming software, and video recording equipment.

  • Basic troubleshooting and repair skills.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings for services and special events.

  • Respect and understanding of Catholic liturgical practices and the importance of reverence during worship.

  • Ability to train and work with volunteers.
