Job Summary

The Rectory Assistant is responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming environment in the rectory and parish offices. This position is a fulltime position with set hours five days a week and involves routine cleaning tasks to support the comfort and well-being of clergy and staff and also includes clerical duties.

Job Responsibilities

Perform general cleaning duties including dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping all floors.

· Clean and sanitize bathrooms and kitchens regularly.

· Maintain tidiness and organization of all living and common areas within the rectory and parish office.

· Dispose of trash and recycling appropriately.

· Monitor cleaning supplies.

· Ensure a welcoming, clean, and comfortable environment for clergy and staff.

· Report any maintenance issues or safety concerns to the appropriate personnel.

· Follow appropriate cleaning and sanitation procedures, especially in shared spaces.

· Weekly Grocery Shopping

· Laundry

Clerical Job Responsibilities

· General Clerical Duties – including but not limited to such things as typing, filing, copying and other tasks as needed.

Job Requirements

· Prior experience in housekeeping, janitorial work, or a similar role preferred.

· Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.

· Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.

· Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.

· Familiarity with cleaning products and safe usage practices.

· Trustworthy, reliable, and respectful of privacy.

· Flexible with attending the needs of housekeeping and clerical duties on any day.
