Once a part of Kenrick-Glennon Seminary's campus, the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury, MO is today the headquarters and curia (governing body) for the Archdiocese of St. Louis.
Job Summary
The Communications Coordinator will design and produce digital and print media, coordinate social media engagements, and perform other related tasks as directed, while exercising creative expression and utilizing a vast array of media for diverse audiences, events and publications. This individual will also oversee the communication platforms utilized by the parish to effectively gather parishioner information and provide effective communication channels intended to reach our different audiences within the parish. This employee will report directly to the Business Manager and work closely with other staff members and volunteers.
Job Responsibilities
- Understand and promote St. Paul's mission to create print and social media campaigns.
- Promote the church liturgical year through various campaigns.
- Update and Maintain Parishioner information in Servant Keeper (parish database).
- Identify Best Communication Platform for the Parish to use to send various forms of Communication, including but not limited to Text, Voice Messaging and Email.
- Leverage and use communication platform(s) to keep parishioners informed and aware of events, activities and initiatives in the Parish.
- Maintain and update Parish Website.
- Maintain and update Parish Social Media Sites.
- Collect and organize stories, photographs and videos of parish supported ministries and functions to be used in social media and on the parish website.
- Back-up for weekly Bulletin creation, development, ordering.
- Act as School-Parish Liaison - making sure School staff are knowledgeable of happenings in the parish.
- Organize new parishioner gatherings.
- Update bulletin boards in church regularly.
- Oversee the development of the Parish Directory every 5 years.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Pastor and/or Business Manager.
Job Requirements
- Experience with Facebook, Youtube, Twitter, Instagram, and other social media platforms such as Flock Note or Constant Contact
- Professional web and graphic design capabilities a plus
- Ability to work collaboratively in team environment
- Strong Time Management skills, able to meet deadlines and stay focused on priorities
- Strong Ethical Standards - discretion to manage confidential information
- Excellent Communication skills, both written and verbal for multiple audiences
- Self-starter with strong project management skills, self motivated
- Disposition to work collaboratively with school and parish leadership and organization groups.
Knowledge and Experience - Preferred:
- Undergraduate degree in Communications, Graphic Design, Marketing, Digital Media or related field
- One year of experience preferred
- Excellent Customer Service
- Experience with photography and videography, adobe suite, Canva or similar applications
- Active and practicing member of the Catholic faith
