Reports To: Preschool Lead Teacher / Principal

Job Summary:
The Preschool Teacher Assistant supports the Lead Teacher in providing a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment. The assistant will help with classroom supervision, activity preparation, and the day-to-day care of preschool-aged children. This role requires patience, a love for young children, and a commitment to Catholic education.
Job Responsibilities

Assist in supervising children during classroom activities, outdoor play, and transitions

Support the Lead Teacher in implementing daily lesson plans and learning activities

Help prepare instructional materials and organize classroom supplies

Provide individual attention to children who need extra support

Assist with toileting, diapering, and other personal care tasks as needed

Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment

Encourage positive behavior and reinforce classroom rules

Communicate professionally and compassionately with parents and colleagues

Uphold and model the values and teachings of the Catholic faith
Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required
-
Experience working with young children preferred

Must be at least 18 years of age

Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and actively engage with children at their level

Must complete Archdiocese of St. Louis Protecting God’s Children training and pass a background check

Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a collaborative team

Enthusiastic, dependable, and compassionate
