Job Summary
The Music Director leads and coordinates all aspects of the music program at the school, including liturgical music, choir direction, classroom music education, and special performances or events. The role blends education, faith formation, and artistic leadership.
Job Responsibilities
Liturgical Duties

Plan and lead music for school Masses and other liturgical celebrations.

Choose music that aligns with the liturgical calendar and Catholic traditions.

Collaborate with clergy and campus ministry on worship planning.

Teach and lead students in singing responses, hymns, and parts of the Mass.

Introduce students to music theory, history, and performance.

Incorporate Catholic hymns and sacred music into the curriculum.
Choirs & Ensembles

Direct school choirs (liturgical choir, concert choir, etc.).

Rehearse regularly and prepare for concerts, Masses, and special events.

Possibly start or manage instrumental ensembles or bands.
Job Requirements

Experience in teaching music and directing choirs or ensembles.

Strong understanding of Catholic liturgy and music ministry.

Ability to play piano/organ and/or guitar is often required.

Practicing Catholic often preferred or required, especially for liturgical roles.
