Job Summary

The PSR Teacher provides Catholic religious education and sacramental preparation to students (typically grades K–8) who are not enrolled in Catholic school. This individual is responsible for fostering the spiritual and moral formation of children in accordance with the teachings of the Catholic Church, using approved curriculum and resources.

Job Responsibilities

  • Teach weekly religion classes according to the approved PSR curriculum.

  • Prepare and deliver engaging lessons that reflect Catholic teachings and values.

  • Integrate Scripture, prayer, Church traditions, and sacraments into classroom activities.

  • Maintain a welcoming, respectful, and faith-filled classroom environment.

  • Collaborate with the PSR Coordinator and parish clergy on program needs and liturgical events.

  • Communicate with parents/guardians regarding student progress and program expectations.

  • Support and prepare students for key sacraments (First Reconciliation, First Communion, Confirmation).

Job Requirements

  • Schedule classes, assign classrooms, and manage registration and attendance.

  • Select and implement catechetical materials in line with diocesan guidelines.

  • Coordinate sacramental preparation programs and retreats in partnership with parish leadership.

  • Maintain communication with families, teachers, and clergy.
