Job Summary

St. Peter Catholic School in Kirkwood, a vibrant and faith-filled community within the Archdiocese of St. Louis, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Classroom Aide to support student learning and assist classroom teachers in delivering a high-quality Catholic education. The ideal candidate will be motivated to serve students in a Christ-centered environment, demonstrate a love of learning, and work collaboratively with faculty and staff to meet the needs of all learners.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist the classroom teacher with instructional support and daily classroom activities

  • Work one-on-one or in small groups with students to reinforce lessons and provide individualized attention

  • Supervise students in the classroom, during transitions, lunch, recess, and other school activities

  • Help prepare classroom materials and maintain an organized learning environment

  • Assist with classroom management and behavior support, following teacher guidance and school policies

  • Support students with special learning or behavioral needs as directed

  • Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required

  • Maintain confidentiality in all student-related matters

  • Uphold and model the values and teachings of the Catholic faith

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred

  • Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is highly desirable

  • Practicing Catholic preferred, but not required

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to follow directions, manage multiple tasks, and maintain a positive and respectful attitude

  • Commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education and the Archdiocese of St. Louis

  • Successful completion of all required background checks and Archdiocesan safe environment training
