Job Summary

The Paraprofessional supports the educational and developmental goals of students by providing instructional assistance, skill reinforcement, behavioral support, and one-on-one or small group guidance as directed by the classroom teacher and learning consultant. This role helps implement individualized learning plans, ensuring each student receives the support needed to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally within a structured classroom environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist assigned students in implementing modified or remedial instruction in accordance with their individualized learning plans.

  • Provide real-time coaching and reinforcement of academic, social, and behavioral skills under the guidance of the teacher and learning consultant.

  • Support classroom management, helping to maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment.

  • Collect, record, and report student performance data as directed by the teacher or learning consultant.

  • Communicate progress and observations regularly with classroom staff and support personnel.

  • Participate in ongoing training sessions and meetings to strengthen instructional and behavioral support skills.

  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all student, staff, and family interactions.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree or coursework in education, psychology, or child development preferred.

  • Previous experience working with children in an educational, childcare, or related setting.

  • Ability to implement instructional and behavioral strategies as directed by teaching and consulting staff.

  • Strong communication, collaboration, and observation skills.

  • Demonstrated patience, empathy, and commitment to student growth and well-being.
