Job Summary

The Playground Supervisor is responsible for ensuring a safe, respectful, and positive environment during recess and outdoor activities. Working under the direction of school leadership, the supervisor monitors student behavior, addresses conflicts appropriately, and promotes the values of courtesy, inclusion.

Job Responsibilities

  • Supervise students during recess and outdoor playtime

  • Ensure student safety by monitoring play areas, enforcing school rules, and intervening when necessary

  • Model and promote respectful, responsible, and kind behavior in line with Catholic values

  • Address minor injuries with basic first aid and report more serious incidents immediately

  • Communicate effectively with teachers and administration regarding student concerns or incidents

  • Set up and put away playground equipment if needed

  • Support students in resolving peer conflicts peacefully

  • Attend occasional staff meetings or training sessions if required

Job Requirements

  • Ability to supervise children in a calm, consistent, and fair manner

  • Strong communication skills and a positive attitude

  • Ability to stand and walk outdoors for extended periods in various weather conditions

  • Completion of diocesan Safe Environment training (or willingness to complete prior to start)
