Job Summary

The 5th–8th Grade Teacher is responsible for providing instruction in designated subject area(s) to upper elementary and middle school students, while supporting their academic, spiritual, and personal growth. The teacher integrates Catholic values and teachings into classroom instruction and school life and serves as a role model of faith and virtue in the Catholic tradition.

Job Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in subject areas such as [insert subject(s): e.g., ELA, Math, Science, Social Studies, Religion, etc.] for grades 5–8.

  • Incorporate Catholic teachings and values into the curriculum and classroom environment.

  • Differentiate instruction to meet the varied needs, abilities, and learning styles of students.

  • Use assessment data to guide instruction, evaluate student progress, and provide feedback.

  • Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and behavior.

  • Build positive relationships with students, promoting a respectful, disciplined, and Christ-centered classroom.

  • Supervise students during transitions, recess, lunch, assemblies, and school Masses.

  • Communicate regularly and professionally with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom updates.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or relevant subject area required; Master’s degree preferred.

  • Current teaching certification (state and/or diocesan) or eligibility to obtain one.

  • Practicing Catholic preferred; must support the mission and teachings of the Catholic Church.

  • Strong content knowledge in middle school curriculum areas.

  • Classroom management and instructional skills appropriate for adolescent learners.

  • Commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive, and faith-filled learning environment.

  • Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate with colleagues and administration.
