Job Summary

Location: Holy Spirit Catholic School – Archdiocese of St. Louis

 

Holy Spirit Catholic School, a vibrant and faith-filled learning community within the Archdiocese of St. Louis, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Preschool Teacher. This individual will be responsible for creating a nurturing, developmentally appropriate classroom environment that supports the spiritual, academic, and social-emotional growth of preschool-aged children. The ideal candidate will model Catholic values, demonstrate a passion for early childhood education, and work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and families to foster student success.

Job Responsibilities

  • Design and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that promote spiritual, cognitive, emotional, and physical development in alignment with Archdiocesan and state early childhood standards.

  • Integrate Catholic teachings, prayer, and values into daily classroom routines and learning experiences.

  • Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment that fosters respect, curiosity, and a love for learning.

  • Assess and document student progress regularly and communicate effectively with parents and administration.

  • Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and support staff to ensure continuity and excellence in instruction and school-wide initiatives.

  • Manage classroom behavior positively and effectively, maintaining a structured and engaging learning environment.

  • Attend faculty meetings, parent-teacher conferences, school events, and professional development sessions as required.

  • Maintain compliance with all health, safety, and Archdiocesan policies and procedures, including Safe Environment requirements.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or a closely related field.

  • Valid Missouri teaching certification in Early Childhood or Elementary Education.

  • Prior experience teaching or working with young children in a classroom or preschool setting is preferred.

  • Practicing Catholic in good standing preferred; must support and uphold the teachings of the Catholic Church.

  • Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.

  • Commitment to fostering academic excellence, faith formation, and child-centered instruction.

  • Must successfully complete all required background checks and Safe Environment training through the Archdiocese of St. Louis.
