Job Summary
The Coordinator of Middle School Ministry provides leadership, vision, and strategic direction for ministry to students in grades 6–8. This role creates environments where students encounter Jesus, grow in faith, build meaningful relationships, and participate in the life and mission of the church. The coordinator works closely with families, volunteers, and church staff to ensure a safe, engaging, and spiritually formative experience for all middle school students.
Job Responsibilities
Student Ministry Leadership

Plan and lead weekly middle school gatherings (teaching, worship, discussion groups, activities).

Develop a relational discipleship model that connects students with caring adult leaders.

Plan retreats, mission opportunities, camps, service projects, and special events.

Create a ministry environment that is fun, welcoming, safe, and spiritually rich.
Volunteer Recruitment & Development

Recruit, train, schedule, and support volunteer leaders.

Provide ongoing coaching, resources, and encouragement to help volunteers thrive.

Ensure all volunteers follow church safety and background-check procedures.
Family Engagement

Communicate consistently with parents about upcoming events, curriculum, and care needs.

Partner with families as primary disciplers, offering resources and support.

Develop pathways for connecting new families into the church.
Administration & Communication

Manage the middle school ministry calendar, budget, event registrations, and logistics.

Maintain communication through email, social media, church platforms, and print materials.

Track attendance, follow up with new or absent students, and maintain ministry records.
Job Requirements

Passion for helping middle school students follow Jesus.

Experience in youth or children’s ministry (paid or volunteer).

Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to shepherd volunteers and build teams.

Alignment with the church’s mission, theology, and values.
