Job Summary:

St. Dominic High School is seeking enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and mission-driven Seasonal Coaches for various athletic programs. The coach will be responsible for developing student-athletes’ skills, fostering teamwork and sportsmanship, and ensuring a safe and respectful environment that promotes growth both on and off the field or court. Coaches are expected to uphold the school’s Catholic identity and values while supporting the holistic development of each student-athlete.

Job Responsibilities

  • Plan and lead practices, conditioning sessions, and competitive events in accordance with school and MSHSAA (Missouri State High School Activities Association) guidelines

  • Teach sport-specific fundamentals, strategies, and techniques appropriate to the age and skill level of student-athletes

  • Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, leadership, and academic accountability

  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all student-athletes during practices, games, and travel

  • Maintain equipment and report any necessary repairs or replacements to the Athletic Department

  • Communicate effectively with players, parents, school staff, and the Athletic Director

  • Support and represent the Catholic mission of St. Dominic High School in all aspects of the program

  • Attend required meetings, training sessions, and compliance programs (e.g., CPR certification, Archdiocesan Safe Environment requirements)

Job Requirements

  • Previous coaching or competitive playing experience in the assigned sport preferred

  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills

  • Ability to build positive relationships with student-athletes, parents, and staff

  • Must complete Protecting God’s Children training and pass a background check through the Archdiocese of St. Louis

  • Compliance with all MSHSAA coaching requirements and certifications

  • Commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education

Pre-Employment Screening
