Job Summary

The Preschool Aide supports the Lead Teacher in creating a safe, nurturing, and faith-filled classroom environment that fosters the spiritual, academic, social, and emotional development of young children in alignment with Catholic values.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist the Lead Teacher with classroom management, instruction, and supervision of children.

  • Support the daily routine, including arrival, prayer, learning centers, outdoor play, snack, and dismissal.

  • Help prepare instructional materials and maintain a clean, organized classroom environment.

  • Foster a warm, respectful, and faith-centered atmosphere for children and families.

  • Supervise students to ensure safety and promote positive behaviors.

  • Attend staff meetings, trainings, and school events as required.

  • Uphold and model Catholic values in word and action.

  • Assist with faith-based activities, prayer, and simple religious instruction as directed.

  • Maintain confidentiality and follow school and diocesan policies.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college or early childhood coursework preferred.

  • Experience working with young children in an educational or childcare setting is strongly preferred.

  • Practicing Catholic preferred; must support the mission and values of Catholic education.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with the teaching team and communicate effectively with children and adults.

  • Completion of diocesan Safe Environment training and background check required.

  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) preferred.
