Job Summary

The Part-Time Physical Education (PE) Teacher is responsible for creating a positive, active, and developmentally appropriate learning environment that promotes physical fitness, teamwork, sportsmanship, and healthy lifestyle habits. The teacher will integrate Catholic values into instruction, foster respect and cooperation, and support the physical and social-emotional growth of all students.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Model and promote Catholic values in interactions with students, colleagues, and families.
  • Plan and deliver age-appropriate physical education lessons that emphasize fitness, skill development, and cooperative play.
  • Teach and model proper techniques for various sports, physical activities, and movement skills.
  • Promote teamwork, respect, safety, and positive sportsmanship in all activities.
  • Maintain equipment, ensure safe use of materials, and create an organized learning environment.
  • Assess student progress through participation, skill development, and effort.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to support student growth and classroom expectations.
  • Participate in school activities, events, and faith-based practices as appropriate for part-time faculty. 

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, or a related field.

  • Teaching credential or certification appropriate for physical education (preferred).

  • Experience teaching or coaching children, preferably in a school setting.

  • Understanding of child development and developmentally appropriate physical activities.

  • Ability to model and support Catholic values within the educational environment.

  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.

  • Commitment to safety and supervision during all physical activities.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty and support schoolwide goals.
