Job Summary
The specialist aide provides academic support to students in the learning lab, working under the direction of the learning lab teacher to assist with individualized and small group instruction. This role focuses on meeting students' unique learning needs, reinforcing classroom skills, and promoting a positive, encouraging environment that fosters student growth and success.
Job Responsibilities

Collaborate with the Learning Lab Teacher to implement individualized education plans and targeted interventions.

Provide one-on-one and small group academic support tailored to student needs.

Reinforce reading and math concepts introduced in the classroom through guided practice and review.

Monitor student progress and communicate observations to the Learning Lab Teacher.

Maintain a structured, supportive, and respectful learning environment.

Assist students in developing study habits, organizational skills, and academic confidence.

Prepare and organize instructional materials and learning activities as directed.

Promote positive behavior and engagement through encouragement and consistent expectations.

Participate in team meetings or training sessions related to student support and instructional strategies.
Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree or higher preferred

Prior experience working with children or in an educational setting strongly preferred

Strong foundational skills in reading and math

Ability to follow teacher direction and work collaboratively as part of a team

Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude toward student learning

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to manage small groups and keep students engaged

Basic organizational and record-keeping skills
