Job Summary
The Youth Minister is responsible for developing and leading a vibrant Catholic youth ministry that fosters the spiritual growth and engagement of middle and high school students. This position supports the overall mission of the parish by guiding young people to deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ and become active, faithful members of the Church.
Job Responsibilities
Faith Formation & Evangelization

Plan and implement weekly youth ministry sessions rooted in Catholic doctrine and Scripture.

Coordinate sacramental preparation (Confirmation) in collaboration with the Director of Religious Education.

Organize retreats, mission trips, service opportunities, and spiritual development events.
Community Building & Outreach

Create a welcoming, inclusive environment that fosters community, discipleship, and leadership among youth.

Engage parents, families, and parishioners in supporting youth ministry initiatives.

Promote events through parish communications, social media, and personal outreach.
Volunteer & Leadership Development

Recruit, train, and support adult volunteers and peer leaders.

Provide formation and supervision to ensure safe, effective ministry.
Administrative Duties

Maintain program calendar, budget, permission forms, and records in accordance with parish and diocesan policies.

Ensure compliance with Safe Environment protocols and training.

Collaborate with parish staff and attend meetings as required.
Job Requirements

Practicing Catholic in good standing with a strong commitment to Church teachings.

Bachelor’s degree in Theology, Religious Studies, or a related field (preferred).

Previous experience in youth ministry or pastoral work (preferred).

Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to inspire, lead, and work effectively with youth and adult volunteers.

Proficiency with social media, digital communication, and basic administrative tools.

Completion of diocesan Safe Environment training and background check required.
