Job Summary

The Substitute Teacher provides classroom instruction, supervision, and spiritual guidance in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. Working in alignment with the mission of Catholic education, the substitute ensures continuity in learning while fostering a respectful and faith-filled environment.

Job Responsibilities

Instruction and Classroom Management:

  • Deliver lesson plans and instructional materials provided by the regular teacher.

  • Maintain an organized and respectful classroom environment conducive to learning.

  • Supervise students in all assigned locations and ensure their safety and well-being.

  • Reinforce the behavioral and academic expectations of the regular teacher and the school.

    Communication and Professionalism:

  • Communicate any incidents, concerns, or relevant information to school administrators.

  • Leave notes or feedback for the returning teacher regarding student progress and classroom events.

  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all school-related matters.

Job Requirements

  • Previous experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting is preferred.

  • Practicing Catholic preferred; must support the Catholic identity and mission of the school.

  • Strong classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Flexibility and reliability in responding to short-notice assignments.
