Job Summary

St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Perryville rooted in faith and academic excellence, seeks a mission-driven and organized Librarian to manage the school library and promote literacy, research skills, and a love for reading.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain the school library, including circulation, cataloging, and organization of materials

  • Foster a love of reading through book displays, reading programs, and classroom collaboration

  • Teach age-appropriate library skills, research techniques, digital literacy, and ethical information use

  • Support students in selecting appropriate reading and research materials

  • Collaborate with teachers to integrate library resources into curriculum and faith-based instruction

  • Promote Catholic values through literature selections and student interactions

  • Oversee library technology and provide support for student and faculty use

  • Maintain inventory, order new materials, and manage library budget

  • Uphold school and diocesan policies, including child safety protocols

Job Requirements

  • School library or classroom teaching experience preferred

  • Strong organizational and communication skills

  • Familiarity with library systems (e.g., Follett Destiny) and digital research tools
