Job Summary
The Junior High Volleyball Coach is responsible for leading, developing, and inspiring student-athletes in grades 6–8 through the school’s volleyball program. This position focuses on teaching the fundamentals of the sport, promoting teamwork and sportsmanship, and fostering a positive, supportive environment that aligns with the school’s mission and values. The coach plans and conducts practices, manages game-day coaching and strategy, and ensures the physical and emotional well-being of all players. The role includes communicating effectively with athletes, parents, and school staff, coordinating logistics such as uniforms and equipment, and supporting the overall athletic program’s goals.
Job Responsibilities
- Plan and lead all practices, matches, and team activities during the fall season.
- Develop players' skills, game strategies, and physical conditioning.
- Foster teamwork, sportsmanship, and a positive team culture.
- Supervise and mentor assistant coaches and assign roles as needed.
- Maintain and manage equipment and uniforms.
- Communicate effectively with student-athletes, families, and school administration.
- Ensure compliance with school policies and MSHSAA rules and regulations.
- Promote academic achievement and character development.
- Coordinate team logistics, including transportation and facility use.
- Represent Cardinal Ritter College Prep positively in the community and during competition.
Job Requirements
- Prior volleyball coaching experience (head coaching preferred).
- Strong understanding of volleyball techniques, rules, and coaching methods.
- Leadership, organizational, and motivational skills.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- MSHSAA certification or eligibility to be certified.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as required.
