Job Summary

The Rectory Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming environment in the rectory and parish offices. This position offers flexible hours and involves routine cleaning tasks to support the comfort and well-being of clergy and staff.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform general cleaning duties including dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping all floors.

  • Clean and sanitize bathrooms and kitchens regularly.

  • Maintain tidiness and organization of all living and common areas within the rectory and parish office.

  • Dispose of trash and recycling appropriately.

  • Monitor cleaning supplies and notify supervisor when replenishment is needed.

  • Ensure a welcoming, clean, and comfortable environment for clergy and staff.

  • Report any maintenance issues or safety concerns to the appropriate personnel.

  • Follow appropriate cleaning and sanitation procedures, especially in shared spaces.

Job Requirements

  • Prior experience in housekeeping, janitorial work, or a similar role preferred.

  • Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.

  • Trustworthy, reliable, and respectful of privacy.

  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.

  • Familiarity with cleaning products and safe usage practices.
