Job Summary
A Teacher Aide provides direct student support within the classrooms of St. Charles Borromeo School. This position reports to the school administration. This position is designated as a “School-year” position and is considered non-exempt. Candidates with experience in an educational setting and who are practicing Catholics are preferred.

Job Responsibilities
- Actively engage in living the mission of St. Charles Borromeo School.
- Live the mission of the Catholic church in daily life, as defined by the Christian Witness statement and the gospel of Jesus Christ.
- Must develop collaborative and constructive relationships with administration, support staff, and teachers
- Assist the classroom teachers in the supervision of the students
- Substitute in the classroom as needed.
- Actively support student learning and assist students when and where needed.
- Work with small groups or individual students as directed by the teachers and administration.
- Assist, monitor, and guide students to pay attention, participate in activities, and complete tasks.
- Assist in implementing behavior management plans.
- Supervise lunch and recess daily
- Assist the classroom teacher with filing, grading, paperwork, bulletin boards, and preparation of materials for class activities.
- Cover other classes as directed by the administration.
- Attend additional events if necessary (e.g. Open House, teacher meetings and training, sacraments)
- School / Classroom setting.
- Must be in classroom/cafeteria/playground/assigned location on time when scheduled and may exit the building at the end of the assigned schedule.
- Must be able to speak and/or stand for an extended time.
- Regular, reliable attendance is required for this position.
- Work is performed primarily in a classroom setting. Employees are required to move throughout the classroom and school to monitor student performance and behavior. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, talk, reach, sit, hear, and use repetitive motion of the hands/wrists and feet.
