Job Summary

Sts Joachim and Ann Catholic School, St Charles, a Catholic elementary school rooted in faith and academic excellence, is seeking a caring and responsible Extended Care Aide to supervise and support students during the before and/or after school program. The aide will provide a safe, nurturing environment where students can engage in activities, complete homework, and interact with peers in a respectful and faith-centered atmosphere. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Supervise students during extended care hours (before and/or after school).

  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all students at all times.

  • Organize and lead age-appropriate activities, games, crafts, or quiet study time.

  • Assist with distributing snacks, monitoring behavior, and cleaning up materials or spaces.

  • Support and model respectful, Christ-centered behavior and interactions.

  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff.

  • Maintain attendance records and incident reports as required.

  • Uphold the values, mission, and policies of the Catholic school.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required); some college or experience in childcare/education preferred.

  • Experience working with children in a school, daycare, or church setting preferred.

  • Ability to supervise and engage with students in a positive and patient manner.

  • Basic first aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).

  • Practicing Catholic preferred, or respectful of Catholic teachings and environment.

  • Strong communication, reliability, and teamwork skills.
