Job Summary

The maintenance employee provides basic maintenance services to the school and surrounding facilities.  This position provides basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting and other such services as needed during the school day and/or weekend activities at the school for school functions.

Job Responsibilities

Maintains the school and surrounding facilities so they are in the proper operating status.  This includes scheduling and performing required preventive maintenance, scheduling service calls from various vendors, and performing required inspections of various operating systems and safety systems.

 

Job Requirements

  •   Basic knowledge of plumbing, the tools required, and their proper use.
  •   Basic knowledge of electrical lighting, outlet replacement, the tool required and their proper use.
  •   Basic knowledge of carpentry, the tools required and their use.
  •   General knowledge and respect of the Catholic Church.
  •   Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  •   Ability to tolerate varying temperatures and climate changes.
  •   Frequent lifting, must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
  •   Ability to stand, squat, and kneel for long periods of time.
  •   Ability to climb ladders.
  •   Willingness to work a flexible schedule, evening and/or weekends.
  •   On-call availability for emergencies.
  •   Must have own transportation, valid driver’s license, and proof of insurance.
  •   Must complete “Protecting God’s Children” course and pass a background check.
  •   Must be able to work with Facilities Director, Administration, Faculty, custodial staff, Parents, and volunteers.
