Job Summary
Duchesne High School is looking for an Assistant Boys Basketball Coach. The Assistant Boys Basketball Coach supports the mission of Duchesna High School by helping develop student-athletes in both skill and character, in accordance with the values of Catholic education. This position assists the Head Coach in overseeing all aspects of the boys basketball program, promoting teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship in a Christ-centered environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist the head coach with identifying and improving talent for the basketball program through work with the current players in the program and through interaction with and evaluation of talent at the junior high level.
- Assist with implementation of offensive and defensive strategies as determined by the head coach.
- Assist the head coach with scouting of opponents. This will include attending and filming of games as well as breakdown of games and helping with game-planning
- Assist the head coach with the promotion of and running of Duchesne’s summer basketball camps.
- Assist the head coach with the gathering and dissemination of statistics for the basketball program.
Job Requirements
- 
Previous coaching or playing experience in basketball at the high school, club, or collegiate level preferred. 
- 
Knowledge of basketball rules, techniques, and strategies. 
- 
Ability to work collaboratively with the Head Coach, Athletic Director, and school administration. 
- 
Commitment to the mission and philosophy of Catholic education and willingness to model Gospel values. 
- 
Strong leadership, communication, and motivational skills. 
- 
Must pass a background check and complete Safe Environment / VIRTUS training as required by the Diocese.
