Job Summary

Assistant Girls Basketball Coach supports the development of student-athletes in both skill and character. This position works closely with the Head Coach to oversee all aspects of the girls basketball program, promoting teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship in alignment with the program’s values and goals.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head Coach in identifying, developing, and mentoring student-athletes at all levels of the program.

  • Support the implementation of offensive and defensive strategies as directed by the Head Coach.

  • Aid in scouting and preparing for opponents, including attending games, filming, and assisting in game analysis and planning.

  • Help organize and conduct team practices, conditioning sessions, and skill development drills.

  • Assist with the coordination and execution of summer basketball camps and other program-related activities.

  • Collect, organize, and communicate team and individual statistics as needed.

  • Promote positive team culture, sportsmanship, and academic achievement among all players.

  • Uphold and model the values and expectations of the athletic department and the school or organization.

Job Requirements

  • Previous coaching or playing experience in basketball at the high school, club, or collegiate level preferred.

  • Strong understanding of basketball rules, techniques, and strategies.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with the Head Coach, Athletic Director, and administration.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and motivational skills.

  • Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive, and character-building athletic environment.

  • Must pass a background check and complete any required training or certifications as specified by the school or governing athletic association.
