Job Summary

The Instructional Aide provides classroom support to teachers and helps create a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment for elementary students. This position involves working directly with students—individually and in small groups—to reinforce lessons, support academic and behavioral goals, and assist with classroom routines.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist the classroom teacher in implementing lesson plans and instructional activities.

  • Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning concepts.

  • Support students with special needs or those requiring additional academic or behavioral assistance.

  • Supervise students in classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, playgrounds, and on field trips.

  • Help manage classroom materials and prepare learning resources.

  • Monitor student behavior and report any concerns to the teacher.

  • Maintain a safe and positive classroom environment.

  • Perform clerical duties such as copying, filing, or organizing student work.

  • Support the teacher in managing classroom technology and digital tools.

  • Maintain student confidentiality at all times.

Job Requirements

  • Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is preferred.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with children and adults.

  • Basic understanding of child development and learning strategies.

  • Ability to take direction and work as part of a team.
