Job Summary

The Summer Custodian supports the maintenance and cleaning of the school campus during the summer break to ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. This position requires reliability, attention to detail, and respect for the Catholic mission of the school.

Job Responsibilities

Cleaning & Maintenance:

  • Deep clean classrooms, hallways, offices, restrooms, gymnasiums, and other areas of the school.

  • Strip, wax, and buff floors; shampoo carpets.

  • Wash windows, walls, and furniture.

  • Disinfect surfaces and prepare classrooms for the new school year.

  • Move furniture and supplies for summer renovations or maintenance work.

Repairs & Facility Upkeep:

  • Assist with minor repairs, painting, or special projects as directed.

  • Report maintenance needs or safety hazards to the facilities manager or supervisor.

Job Requirements

  • Prior custodial, janitorial, or maintenance experience is a plus.

  • Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs., standing for long periods, and using cleaning equipment.

  • Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team.

  • Respect for the Catholic mission and environment of the school.
