Job Summary
The Varsity Assistant Football Coach is responsible for supporting the Head Coach in all aspects of the varsity football program. This includes coaching, practice planning, game preparation, athlete development, and ensuring the program operates in alignment with the school's values, athletic policies, and applicable league regulations.
Job Responsibilities

Assist the Head Coach with planning and conducting practices, workouts, and drills.

Teach fundamental football skills, techniques, and game strategies to student-athletes.

Provide mentorship and support for student-athletes, encouraging academic and personal development.

Support game-day operations, including strategy, sideline management, and player substitutions.

Analyze game film to assess team and individual performance.

Collaborate with other coaching staff to ensure consistent philosophy across all levels of the program.

Monitor and promote player safety, conditioning, and injury prevention.

Maintain open and positive communication with players, parents, school staff, and the community.

Assist in managing team equipment, uniforms, and inventory.

Uphold school and league rules regarding eligibility, conduct, and sportsmanship.
Job Requirements

Prior experience coaching football (varsity or equivalent level preferred).

Knowledge of football fundamentals, strategies, and rules.

Strong communication and organizational skills.

Ability to work evenings and weekends for practices and games.

Current CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain).

Ability to pass background check.
