Job Title: Part‑Time Second Grade Paraprofessional

Position Summary
Our Lady of the Pillar Catholic School is seeking a supportive and dedicated Part‑Time Second Grade Paraprofessional to assist the classroom teacher in creating a positive, faith‑centered, and academically enriching environment. This role provides essential support to students and teachers by reinforcing instructional goals, assisting with daily routines, and helping maintain a safe and welcoming classroom. The ideal candidate enjoys working with children, demonstrates patience and professionalism, and is committed to the mission of Catholic education.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the second grade teacher with daily instructional activities and classroom routines.
- Support students during lessons, small‑group instruction, and independent work.
- Provide individualized assistance to students who need additional guidance or reinforcement.
- Help maintain a safe, orderly, and nurturing classroom environment.
- Supervise students during transitions, recess, lunch, and other non‑instructional times as assigned.
- Prepare classroom materials, supplies, and learning resources as directed by the teacher.
- Communicate respectfully and effectively with students, teachers, and staff.
- Uphold school policies, safety procedures, and expectations for student behavior.
- Contribute to a positive school culture that reflects the values of Our Lady of the Pillar Catholic School.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children in a school, childcare, or parish setting preferred.
- Ability to follow directions, support instructional goals, and work collaboratively with teachers.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Patience, dependability, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and supportive environment.
- Willingness to support the mission and values of Catholic education.
- Must meet Archdiocesan compliance requirements, including Safe Environment training.
