Job Summary:

St. Frances Cabrini Academy, a Catholic elementary school serving a diverse student population in the heart of St. Louis, is seeking a dedicated and passionate 2nd Grade Teacher for the 2025–26 school year. This full-time position includes responsibility for all core academic subjects as well as sacramental preparation for First Reconciliation and First Communion. The successful candidate will foster a nurturing classroom environment that supports both academic achievement and spiritual development in accordance with Catholic values.

Job Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver instruction in all core academic subjects (reading, writing, math, science, social studies, and religion).

  • Prepare 2nd grade students for the sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Communion, in collaboration with school leadership and parish staff.

  • Create a classroom environment that supports the academic, emotional, social, and spiritual development of all students.

  • Use effective classroom management strategies to maintain a positive and respectful learning environment.

  • Differentiate instruction and assessment to meet the varied learning needs and backgrounds of students.

  • Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and parents to support student learning and school community initiatives.

  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with families.

  • Uphold and model Catholic values and participate in the school’s faith-based community life.

  • Attend professional development sessions, faculty meetings, and school-related events as required.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or a related field.

  • Missouri State Teaching Certification (or eligibility for certification).

  • Practicing Catholic preferred, with the ability to support students in sacramental preparation.

  • Experience or strong interest in working with children from diverse cultural, linguistic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong organizational and classroom management abilities.

  • Ability to use data to inform instruction and tailor learning experiences.

  • Passion for Catholic education and commitment to the mission of the Archdiocese of St. Louis.
